When Your Browser Starts Doing Your Errands

AI agents are moving from chatbots to actual browser co-pilots — here's what that means the next time your flight gets cancelled.

The interesting part isn’t the speed. It’s that the agent is now a participant in the web, not just an observer of it. That raises real questions: who’s accountable when it books the wrong flight, and how much should it be allowed to do without asking first? For now, the sensible approach is narrow permission — let the agent handle the tedious, well-defined tasks and keep a human in the loop for anything that costs money or can’t be undone.

Airlines, insurers, and e-commerce sites are already redesigning their interfaces with these agents in mind. The websites of tomorrow may be built less for human eyes and more for something reading over your shoulder.
